You know how it goes.<br /><br />Actually, when we film food stories, we never get to taste how good it really is. All we get to do is drool during the shooting. And when we're finally done filming, we get to eat the food which has gone cold and not that tasty anymore. Some restaurants will insist on making new, hot food for us to make sure we get a taste of how good it really is, and that's nice, but I never ask for it because we end up with a ton of food that we can't finish. To get a good feel/taste of how the food really is and to write a good story, the best thing is to probably taste the food before we start filming, but that's often not a choice. Most of the time, I get handed the assignment by my editor with only a morning or afternoon to work on the story, so we usually just go straight to filming once we get to the restaurant.<br /><br />It's actually really easy to make food look tasty on camera. Make it sparkle with oil, make it steam, make it jiggle, have someone bite into it and let the juices come dripping or gushing out... :D<br /><br />So when's the food really good?
