苗栗的客家湯圓 比小湯圓還要大，但裡面沒有包餡，所以吃起來特別彈牙，也嚐得到加了爆香過的油蔥，蝦米，香菇，豬肉的雞豬骨頭高湯裡面豐富的好滋味。

What a stange way of eating tang yuen. Does it taste savoury?
It's savory, indeed. And quite good. Some sauces and soups are made this way
For some reason, I was expecting a couple of "oh, that looks loaded with greasy fat" comments.
