Taitung foods 台東美食

What do these have in common, other than the fact that they're from Taitung and that they're all very tasty?

除了是台東美食以外,猜猜這三樣東西有什麼共同點。

:D

They are all unhealthy foods -- that is another thing they share in common. Only the 2nd one has some vegetables -- but even those look to be boiled in pig fat...

Yeah I'm gunna go with unhealthy too.

Is that rice holding the icecreams up in that first photo? I hope not, what a waste!

Actually, the answer is "organic rice."

The gelato is made of milk and organic rice, no stabilizer, no cream.

The rice in the lunch box is organic rice, and I the veggies didn't taste all that heavy to me. I'm a light eater.

The cake is not made of wheat flour, but...organic rice.

Too bad Taiwanese food seems to have such an unhealthy reputation. The average life expectancy of Taiwanese people is close to 80, with men at about 79 and women about 82.
