It would be lovely if I can go and learn to dive next year. I hear Malaysia's perfect for it - good waters, great prices. It's that time of year for planning again. I love indulging in making plans. I always overplan. Do you?

Not really, I go where the deals are. :) Going to France 1/4 - 1/15 for work, might stay a bit longer to look through France.
Some spots in Malaysia are great for diving. We lived in Malaysia 4 years and diving was one of the best things about living there!

Susana: oh that's right! what are some must-do's when in Malaysia? What are some things to avoid?
Having lived in Malaysia for two months, let me give you some advice:
1. Always, I mean ALWAYS, bargain with the taxi driver.
2. Get to know the locals. They don't have yelp in Malaysia, the local knows where are the good place at the local price.
Jack: I'll try to get to know the locals. Don't know if I can haggle though. I'm no good at that.
