Relief

Both uncles are better now. Mom said one walked around a bit today, and the other whose arm is broken, is wearing a cast and is feeling pretty good from the pain killers.

I went to buy wood so I can start figuring out how to make my own woodblock prints. Since I won't be able to go to class, I think it's going to take many many phonecalls to Mama and Chung-sensei.

Today didn't go so well. "Short staffed" seems to get taken to a new level every time. It wasn't a smooth day by any means, but I made it through. I think I have to keep laying low.

After work, I went to go see the doctor because my throat has been hurting for a few days now and I started coughing today. However, they were closed. So I went to the next building where I want to rent a flat. I called the only person who was renting, and she said she'll be there in an hour (20h30). While waiting, I went to Mr Sandwich and had a veggie panini. It was my third in three days. I really don't like eating in dirty places, no matter how tasty the food is. Mr Sandwich was the only clean, not-so-expensive place around. I don't like eating the same thing everyday, but tonight, I had a nice chat with the owner, so I wasn't that miserable.

An hour had gone by and no sight of the landlady and no phonecall either. I rang back and she said she didn't know how to use her friend's phone and she accidentally lost my phone number and that she was still out in Beitou (50 minutes away) and could't make it. I held my breath and managed not to say anything rude and said I'll see her Monday instead.

But meanwhile, Tinna, Roel and Derek were waiting for me at Cashbox (karaoke). I really didn't want to go because I was so tired and sick, but I had put them off for so long and so many times, I had to at least show my face. I stayed for about 45 minutes and Roel drove me back to the office to pick up my things and the car.

By the time I got home, it was 23h00.

What a long day. But I'm so glad both uncles seem to be doing better.

Counting the days until Tokyo when I can just disappear.
