I had planned on joining Mom and Dad at Uncle Cody's after work last night and going back to Danshui, then visiting both hospitalized Grandpas the next day, but my body said "NO."
All day Sunday, I felt like my feet were three feet off the ground and my mind in another country. I didn't even know I was speaking English to Roy. Somehow we made it through and cranked out two stories and one voiceover in Taiwanese. Before the 19h30 official off time, I decided to pick up and leave. My boss knew if she didn't let me go, she risked me passing out in the office. I slowly rode my bicycle home, still in pain from the fall last week. The bruising is much better now, but I think I may have injured some other soft tissue underneath.
I guess after the non-stop drama leading up to the elections and then all the preparation work for interviews that ended up cancelled and then the press conference, my body and mind were at its limit. I was once again reminded of how much a tired body can upset a mind. If you tell me fatigue causes depression, I'll believe you.
Today, I stayed at home all day in my pajamas. No TV, no news. I cleaned out about 100 press releases, replied to about 20 emails and did some thinking. But enough thinking for now. I'm not any happier after all that thinking, so let's look at some pictures.
